Current SOS Activities

We've had a busy six weeks at SOS, culminating with the MASA/MASB Legislative Conference and a strong rally at the Capitol last week. We've testified on our proposals before the House Committee on Education and the State Board of Education, and held two news conferences. Our speakers’ bureau provided speakers at least twice a week to present our views to a wide variety of groups. We've also had private meetings with legislators and key players in the political scene to discuss how to get Lansing moving on the reforms of our revenue and expenditure systems we all know are needed. You'll see continuing additions and changes to our Web site as we add content and tools to help you. I hope you'll visit often and give us feedback on what additional things we can do for you.

March to the Capitol Rally

We had a strong rally with a very vocal and assertive group at the Capitol on March 10. Take a look at a blog from an observer and look at the coverage from Channel 7 in Detroit. A special thank you goes to the MPTSA for their participation in this event. They really know how to make the case for schools; it takes that kind of dedication and passion to make Lansing listen.
